Having heard whispers of super-club DJs Calvin Harris and Eric Prydz taking to the decks at Mayfair’s newest boutique club, Luxx, I decided to head down there and check it out for Stylebible.

Mayfair clubs may be elaborate, slick and expensive but up until now have never been renowned for their music offering, which tends to be either a fashionista with a vacant look ‘playing’ at DJ with a pre-loaded iPod or a ten track CD on a loop… So I was excited to hear that the incredibly cool and incredibly talented Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia was DJing at the intimate venue.

Luxx Club is brought to us by Luca Maggiora, previously involved at one of London’s hottest night spots, Maddox Club and I am told it is Luca’s passion for great music that is the driving force behind the amazing DJ line-ups.

Located in the heart of Mayfair, at 3 New Burlington Street, Luxx Club is a non-members’ club and there’s room for only 200. In order to get on the highly desired list, guests must be invited. As the night was (unsurprisingly) very popular, they had opened up the upstairs restaurant and lounge bar, Cielo to club goers as well.

We drank the signature cocktail, the Cielo Bubble on the mezzanine bar level as the whole venue began to fill up. The cocktails were outstanding - the list was overseen by Andreas Jansson, previously Bar Manager at Cuckoo Club. Andreas’s team includes Sophian Ejjanfi and Francesco Orefiche, who were formerly managers at Salvatore Calabrese’s bar at Fifty and moved like lightning shaking up wonderful concoctions at the busy bar.

Downstairs, Luxx club showcases a spectacular glass runway of coloured lights stretching through the front to the back of the club. Other design features include 80’s inspired black lacquer walls embedded with coloured strips of red, yellow and green LED lights, large mirrors and charcoal leather bench seating.  There is also be a private, walled garden, which will come as a relief to smokers.

If you want a glamorous night out in Mayfair but don’t want to compromise on the music, Luxx is the perfect venue.
